ASHEBORO — Nancy Carolyn Wham Tucker, 83, of Asheboro passed away Thursday, March 13, 2025, at Clapp's Convalescent Nursing Home in Asheboro.
Born on July 29, 1941, Nancy was the daughter of the late Joseph Marion Wham & Nannie Welborn Wham.
She was a beloved member of her community and a long-time active member of Oakhurst Baptist Church.
Nancy was passionate about youth bowling in North Carolina and dedicated several years to this cause.
Nancy worked at Nationwide Insurance for much of her career but also contributed her bookkeeping and administrative skills to several other organizations, including Dogwood Acres Presbyterian Church and Goldston Substance Abuse.
She cherished her family and proudly told fun and loving stories of her grandchildren.
She is survived by her daughter, Mandy Strider (husband Brian); her son-in-law, Randall Trogdon; her sisters, Sue Webster (husband John) and Peggy Diamond (husband John); her cousins, Julia Callicutt (husband Jerry) and Jack Ridge (wife Sharon); and her grandchildren, Karolanne Trogdon, Kristyn Trogdon, Erin Strider, Rylee Strider, Ethan Dumoulin, Sadie Dumoulin, and Lily Dumoulin. She also leaves behind several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, Nancy was preceded in death by her husband of 63 years, Jim Tucker; and her daughter, Kathy Trogdon.
She will be deeply missed by her family, friends and all who knew her.
The family will receive friends from 10-11 a.m. on Friday, March 21, 2025, at Oakhurst Baptist Church. A memorial service will follow with Dr. Rob Roberts officiating.
