Peggy Smith Dunn Cox

Peggy Smith Dunn Cox, 88, of Asheboro died Monday, June 3, 2024, at Clapp's Convalescent Nursing Home in Asheboro.

A funeral service will be conducted at 11 a.m. on Friday, June 7, 2024, at Ridge Funeral Home Chapel, with Pastor Nathan Kiser officiating.  Burial will follow at Randolph Memorial Park. 

Peggy was born on Nov. 3, 1935, in Randolph County, the daughter of the late Pinkney and Emma Smith. She was a 1952 graduate from Star High School and a 1964 graduate from Asheboro Business College. She was a member of Rushwood Church and retired from Rampon Products, Inc.

Peggy was known for her love for gardening and especially her flowers. She was also known as an excellent seamstress who enjoyed working with many individuals throughout the community.

In addition to her parents, Peggy was preceded in death by her husband, James Tiffany Dunn; and siblings, Alice Davis, PB Smith, Susie Seamans and Arnold Smith.

She is survived by her daughters, Sonya Husband (Chuck), Cheryl Russell (Greg); grandchildren, Ryan Husband (Katie), Tiffani Lindley (Dalton), Laton Russell (Morgan), Ashton Russell (Mallory), Preston Russell (fiancée: Madison), Allyson Russell.; great-grandchildren, Kensley Husband, Hadley Husband, Chase Lindley, Avery Lindley, Declan Russell, and a baby boy on the way; siblings, Clara Garner, Mamie Maness (Butch), Archie Smith (Pauline).

The family will receive friends from 9:45 a.m.-10:45 a.m. on Friday prior to the service at Ridge Funeral Home.
