Robert Ward 'Bob' Brown

LIBERTY — Robert Ward "Bob" Brown, 77, of Liberty, died Friday, Sept. 22, 2023, at his residence.

Graveside services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 30, 2023, at White's Chapel Community Church Cemetery, Liberty, with Military Honors by the Randolph County Honor Guard, and with Jimmy Hill and Rev. Jeffrey Wright officiating.

Bob was a native and a lifelong resident of Randolph County. He was a veteran of the United States Marine Corps, having served in Vietnam.

Bob was the proud owner/operator of RWB Leasing, a trucking company that he built from the ground up.

He was a loving husband, father, grandfather and friend who was proud of his service as a Marine and a trucker.

Bob was preceded in death by his parents, Leo and Mildred Ward Brown, and sister, Janice Brown.

Survivors include his wife, Bonnie Cagle, of the home; daughter, Sharon B. Hicks and husband Mike of Liberty; son, Robert Wayne Brown and wife Beth of Franklinville; step-daughter, Vickie Massingale and husband David of Denton; step-sons, Dale Cagle and wife Angie of Asheboro, Darrell Cagle and wife Ashley of Ramseur; grandchildren, Cory Hicks and wife Brittanie, Whitney Brown, Katelyn Brown, Sean Hicks; great-grandchildren, Kynlee Hicks, Laykyn Hicks; seven step-grandchildren; seven step-great-grandchildren; aunt, Irene Brown of Liberty; and cousin, Becky Shepard and husband Ray,of Florida.

Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. on Friday, Sept. 29, at Loflin Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Ramseur, and other times at the residence.
