Simon Lee Allred

FRANKLINVILLE — Simon Lee Allred, 82, of Franklinville, born on Saturday, May 25, 1940, passed away on Monday, Jan. 23, 2023, at Randolph Hospice House in Asheboro.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Thursday, Jan. 26, 2023, at Whites Memorial Baptist Church, Franklinville, with Rev. Alan Ritter and Rev. Jeff Joyce officiating.

Burial will follow in the church cemetery.

Simon was a native and lifelong resident of Randolph County and was employed in the textile industry, having retired as a fixer with Charles Craft. 

He loved antique cars, attending car shows and enjoyed eating lunch every day with family and friends at the Dipper in Asheboro.

Simon was preceded in death by his wife, Mildred Hogan Allred; daughter, Gail Allred Holdaway; son, Simon Lee Allred, Jr.; parents, Arris and Lillie Florence Britt Allred; and siblings, Dewey, Eula Mae, Glenn, Clarence, Winfred, Florence, Millard and Doris.

Survivors are daughters, Donna Allred Anderson and husband Ricky of Randleman, Wanda Allred Dawkins and husband Lloyd, Jr. of Randleman; sister, Joyce Mainor,of Thomasville; grandchildren, Amanda Canham and husband Charles of Sophia, Joshua Marsh of Level Cross, Jeremy Dawkins and wife Amanda of Randleman, Jacob Holdaway and wife Amber of Asheboro, Reed Holdaway and wife Patricia of Asheboro, Rylee Holdaway and Chance Holdaway, both of Asheboro; great-grandchildren, Sadie and Connor Marsh, Kristopher Deaton, Jamison Canham, Keaton Holdaway, Adilyn Holdaway.

Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. on Wednesday, Jan. 25, at Loflin Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Ramseur.
