RANDLEMAN —The North Carolina State and JOAD (Junior Olympic Archery Development) Indoor Archery Championships took place in Randleman on Jan. 7.
It was the largest North Carolina State indoor championship to date with 148 archers coming out to shoot on the field of competition.
Held at the Randleman Parks & Recreation Community Center, it was hosted by the City of Randleman and 10’s and X’s Archery Academy JOAD.
In all, 57 state champions were crowned in their respective categories based on equipment, age and gender.
“The event was a great success, where a huge crowd of spectators got treated to some fierce competition and camaraderie by the shooters,” said Michael Glass with the City of Randleman and one of the event organizers.
“We are looking for next year’s event to be even better.”
