Conference action remained in full swing last week. Here’s a recap: 

 

Asheboro 17, North Davidson 14

 

Logan Laughlin threw touchdown passes to Elijah Woodle and Aiden Robinson as the Blue Comets pulled out a close one.

 

Micah Garcia kicked a field goal and two extra points for the Blue Comets, who improved to 3-5. It’s the first time since 2016 that Asheboro has won three games in a season.

 

Connor Brinton ran 29 times for 116 yards. Loughlin was 7-of-18 for 69 yards. 

 

Dallas Brinton led the defense with nine tackles and Gavin Allen recovered a fumble.

 

Eastern Randolph 57, Providence Grove 13

 

Lucas Smith had four rushing touchdowns for the undefeated Wildcats. Cade McCallum threw a 50-yard touchdown pass to DeSean Shamberger on Eastern Randolph’s first play from scrimmage.

 

James Combs and Aiden Goodman each had a rushing touchdown. 

 

Julian Brooks returned a fumble 12 yards for a touchdown and Kobe Walker sacked Patriots’ quarterback Jackson Lawver in the end zone for a safety.

 

Brady Collins threw a 14-yard touchdown pass to Lawver and Holden Swift returned a fumble 49 yards for a touchdown to account for Providence Grove’s points.

 

Randleman 34, Southwestern Randolph 14

 

Quarterback John Kirkpatrick scored on a 2-yard run late in the third quarter to give undefeated Randleman the lead and the Tigers poured it on in the fourth quarter.

 

Southwestern Randolph was ahead 14-13 when Kirkpatrick found the end zone. The Tigers added a pair of touchdowns in the fourth quarter to pull away.

 

Tyshaun Goldston scored on a 49-yard run for the Tigers and caught a touchdown pass. Micah Thurston ran 12 times for 41 yards and a pair of touchdowns. Daylan Atkins had 67 yards on 8 carries.

 

Randleman amassed more than 400 yards of offense.

 

Brody Sheppard and Noah Stills each had a rushing touchdown for the Cougars. 

 

Wheatmore 3, Trinity 0

 

The Warriors got a field goal in the fourth quarter to post their first victory of the season.
