Eastern Randolph pounds Southwestern Randolph; Asheboro loses second game; Providence Grove clobbers Trinity; Randleman beaten

Here are some highlights from last week’s Randolph County prep football action.

Eastern Randolph 38, SW Randolph 10

Cade McCallum threw for 341 yards and 4 touchdowns as Eastern Randolph beat Southwestern Randolph 38-10. Cainin Glover caught 5 passes for 134 yards and 2 touchdowns. Caden Revelle had 3 catches for 114 yards and a touchdown. Chance Holdaway had a touchdown reception. ER moves to 2-0 in the conference and 6-2 overall. Southwestern is now 0-1 and 4-3.

Southeast Guilford 21, Asheboro 3

Micah Garcia kicked a 21-yard field goal but Asheboro fell 21-3 to Southeast Guilford. Connor Britton ran 15 times for 88 yards. Quarterback Dallas Brinton was 6-of-15 for 61 yards and ran 18 times for 56 yards. The loss leaves Asheboro at 0-2 in the conference and 5-2 overall.

Providence Grove 56, Trinity 6

Jacob Flinchum ran for 146 yards and a pair of touchdowns on 7 carries as Providence Grove overwhelmed Trinity 56-6. Andrew Thomas caught a touchdown pass and ran for another. Connor Tozer and Holden Swift both had TD catches. Quarterback Jackson Lawver had three completions — all for touchdowns. Nick Straughn added a rushing TD. Connor Haithcock returned an interception 65 yards for a score. PG leads the Central Carolina conference at 2-0 and 5-2 overall.

Central Davidson 40, Randleman 29

Quarterback John Kirkpatrick was 15-of-34 for 259 yards and 3 touchdowns and 3 interceptions in Randleman’s 40-29 loss to Central Davidson. Kirkpatrick also had a rushing touchdown. Lincoln Lawson had 3 catches for 115 yards and a pair of touchdowns. Trey Burnett caught a touchdown pass. With the loss, Randleman slips to second in the Piedmont Athletic conference, at 3-1 behind Central's 4-0 record. Randleman is 5-3 overall.
