BOYS BASKETBALL

 

*There’s still no slowing down Eastern Randolph. Pierce Leonard scored 29 points in the Wildcats’ 95-77 pounding of Trinity. Nicah Taylor had 27 points for the Wildcats. Davonte Brooks had another huge game with 18 points, 19 rebounds, 7 assists and 5 steals.

 

Dominic Payne led Trinity with a game-high 37 points and Dylan Hodges had 22.

 

*Camden Walker scored 22 points and Jerquarius Stanback had 20 in Asheboro’s 74-63 victory over Central Davidson. D.J. Headen added 13 points for the Blue Comets and Hakeeme Butler had 12.

 

*Sean Adkins hit a game-winning layup at the buzzer as Southwestern Randolph beat Uwharrie Charter 57-56. Thomas Leal led the Cougars with 14 points while Adkins had 13 and Landon Williamson 10.

 

*James Ellis scored 13 points in Providence Grove’s 80-60 win over Wheatmore. Chase Whitaker added 12 points and Brady Collins had 11.

 

Tristan Hammonds led Wheatmore with 13 points.

 

*Adkins scored 16 points in Southwestern Randolph’s 62-41 over East Davidson. Leal added 10 points.

 

*Tyshaun Goldston poured in 28 points as Randleman routed Ledford 70-52. Christian Long supplied 12 points for the Tigers and Greg Price had 10.

 

*Chase Whitaker scored 14 points and Jacob Grantham had 13 in Providence Grove’s 93-60 loss to Eastern Randolph.

 

*Hodges scored 23 points and Payne added 17 in Trinity’s 67-55 win over Randleman.

 

*Ashton Troutman had a huge game with 38 points as Uwharrie Charter downed Wheatmore 58-48.

 

Riley Strickland led Wheatmore with 15 points and Luke Beasley had 11.

 

GIRLS BASKETBALL

 

*Brecken Snotherly scored 28 points and grabbed 12 rebounds in Eastern Randolph’s 71-55 win over Trinity. Ziera Watson scored 20 points for the Wildcats and Kenly Whitaker had 14.

 

Kennedy Jackson led Trinity with 24 points and Autumn Gentry had 21.

 

*Sion Murrain scored 24 points in Asheboro’s 69-47 win over Central Davidson.

 

*Seth Baxter picked up his 100th career win as Southwestern Randolph beat Uwharrie Charter 47-45. Caressa King led the Cougars with 15 points while Jordin George had 13.

 

*Jada Nixon scored 24 points in Providence Grove's 65-54 overtime loss to Williams. Allie Frazier had 14 points for the Patriots.

 

*Gracyn Hall scored 12 points while Elizabeth York and Audra Petty each had 9 in Randleman’s 41-36 win over Ledford.

 

*Maddie Strider scored 17 points in Southwestern Randolph’s 51-33 win over East Davidson. George added 15 points and King had 10.

 

*Snotherly had another huge outing with 39 points, 10 rebounds, 4 assists and 5 steals as Eastern Randolph beat Providence Grove 75-26. Watson added 16 points while Logan Beaver had 8 points and 12 rebounds.

 

*York scored 17 points while Hall had 11 and Petty 9 in Randleman’s 59-18 victory over Trinity.

 

*Kyneddi Routh scored 12 points in Wheatmore’s 38-33 win over Uwharrie Charter.

 

Ashara Spruill led Uwharrie Charter with 21 points.

 

WRESTLING

 

*Uwharrie Charter's Lorenzo Alston went 10-0 in the Eagles’ Pin Down Autism Super Duals. Jack McArthur, Aldo Hernandez, Carson Robinson and Grayson Roberts were all 9-0. Corbin Grissom was 8-0 and Jair Ulloa was 7-0.

 

*Bearik Bigelow, Xavier Santos, Diego Gutierrez, Sammy Salinas, Jaylon Moore, Dylan Diaz, Luke Hughes, Michael Brady and Eddie Soto were the winners as Asheboro beat Ledford 54-25.

 

*Edgar Vasquez Mora, Brayden Hall, Spencer May, Levi Dennis, Gavin McCall, Charles Schaefer, Baron Justice, Johnny White, Lawson Coltrane, Gavin Hardister, Joey Smith and Joseph Trahan were the winners as Trinity beat Randleman 63-12.

 

Caden Thorne and Braxton Walker won for Randleman.

 

*Ulloa, Alec Millikan, Roberts, Grissom, Michael Shropshire, Brennal Worrell, Ethan Hines, Christopher White, Hernandez and Lorenzo Austin won in Uwharrie Charter’s 59-21 victory over Wheatmore.

 

Dominic Hittepole, Randy Spencer, Levi Johnson and Trey Swaney won for Wheatmore.
