ER’s Snotherly, Trinity’s Payne top hoop honors in PAC-7

Ellie Garrison scored 7 goals in a game. Brecken Snotherly and Dominic Payne scored the top PAC-7 hoops honors. Uwharrie Charter dominated wres-tling awards. 

Here’s a look at key happenings last week:

SOCCER

    - Wheatmore’s Ellie Garrison scored seven goals as undefeated Wheatmore routed East Davidson 9-1. Garrison has 27 goals in six games. Summer Bow-man scored the other two goals for the Warriors. - Tess Moody scored a hat trick in Asheboro’s 5-1 win over Southwestern Randolph. Jaira Arellano had a goal and two assists. Natalie Flores scored the other goal while Madison Luck, Natasha Mederos and Itzel Macias each got an assist. Carlisle Dozier made eight saves. - Natalie Flores and Luck each got an unassisted goal in Asheboro’s 3-1 win over Uwharrie Charter. Moody scored the other goal and Dozier made 10 saves.  GOLF-Eastern Randolph’s Connor Carter took medalist honors with a 37 in a PAC-7 match at Tot Hill Farm.  BASKETBALL  ALL-PAC GIRLS-Eastern Randolph senior Brecken Snotherly was named Player of the Year in the Piedmont Athletic Conference and Randleman’s Brandon Varner was named Coach of the Year.

Trinity — Autumn Gentry, Kennedy Jackson. 

Providence Grove — Allie Frazier. 

 

ALL-PAC BOYS

*Trinity’s Dominic Payne was named Player of the Year and Matt Kiser of Southwestern Randolph was chosen Coach of Year.

 

The rest of the all-PAC included DaVonte Brooks (Eastern Randolph), Timothy Brower (Eastern Randolph), Pierce Leonard (Eastern Randolph), Nicah Taylor (Eastern Randolph), Sean Adkins (Southwestern Randolph), Nathan Ellis (Southwestern Randolph), Thomas Leal (Southwestern Randolph), Landon Williamson (Southwestern Randolph), Brandon Campbell (Trinity), Dylan Hodges (Trinity), Tyshaun Goldston (Randleman), Greg Price (Randleman), Ashton Troutman (Uwharrie Charter) and Chase Whitaker (Providence Grove).

 

WRESTLING

ALL-PAC 

 

*Uwharrie Charter, the 1-A dual team state champions, dominated the PAC’s top awards. Aldo Hernandez was Lower Weight Wrestler of the Year, Grayson Roberts was Upper Weight Wrestler of the Year and Chris Waddell was Coach of the Year.

SWIMMING

ALL-PAC GIRLS

 

*Samantha Marin of Randleman was chosen Swimmer of the Year while Wheatmore’s Michelle Hinson and Trinity’s Tammie Swaim were co-Coaches of the Year.

 

The rest of the all-PAC team consisted of Emily Cribbs (Wheatmore), Sydney Hall (Wheatmore), Paislee Hollifield (Wheatmore), Victoria Joyce (Wheatmore), Ava Williamson (Wheatmore), Emma Herring (Randleman), Kendall Fortson (Randleman), Mackenzie Roach (Randleman) and Callie Jones (Trinity).

 

ALL-PAC BOYS

 

*Trinity’s Chris Hall was named Swimmer of the Year. Hinson and Swaim were co-Coaches of the year.

 

Thomas Crews (Wheatmore), Aidan Dean (Wheatmore), Jace Leonard (Wheatmore), Jude Leonard (Wheatmore), Alexis Vega-Torres (Wheatmore), Haden Parker (Providence Grove), Ashton Taylor (Providence Grove), Austin Williams (Providence Grove) and Cooper Wright (Providence Grove) filled out the rest of the all-PAC team.
