It was a heavy Spring Break week for high school baseball and softball. Let’s take a look.
Baseball
■ Jackson Hill collected two hits, including a double, and three RBIs as Randleman beat Central Davidson 8-7 in eight innings. Kyle Dillow and Carter Heath each had an RBI single. Tate Andrews pitched 2 2/3 innings of relief to get the win.
■ Ty McCauley pitched a four-hitter over six innings in Uwharrie Charter’s 3-2 win over Union Pines. Keaton Hill pitched a scoreless seventh inning with two strikeouts to earn a save. Jaxon Mabe had a double, triple and scored two runs. Levi Mitchell singled in a run.
■ Carlos Cordero was 3-for-3 with a triple and RBI in Eastern Randolph’s 12-3 loss to Martin County. Bryson Marley had two hits and drove in a run. Maddox Dunn had an RBI single.
■ Bishop Moore had two hits in Providence Grove’s 5-0 loss to Corinth Holders. Trevor Kirkman allowed one earned run and seven hits in the complete-game loss
■ Price Kidd had two hits and two RBIs while striking out 12 in Asheboro’s 12-3 win over Thomasville. Sam Gore, Reid Suddeth (double) and Grayson Norman all had two hits and an RBI. Shane Immel had a two-run single. Gabriel Jaimes had an RBI single. Nolan Shaw had two hits.
■ Chase Collins pitched a two-hitter with nine strikeouts over five innings before Bryson Arrington finished up as Providence Grove blanked Salem (Va.) 10-0. Collins had three hits, including a double, and two RBIs. Colin Duvall had two hits and two RBIs. Andrew Thomas had two hits and an RBI. Jacob Flinchum and Moore had RBI singles.
■ Jake Hunter had an RBI single in Uwharrie Charter’s 11-1 loss to Pinecrest.
■ John Kirkpatrick had two hits and an RBI in Randleman’s 9-3 loss to West Stanly. Lincoln Lawson and Gavin Vanover had RBI singles.
■ Marley had three hits, including a double, and two RBIs as Eastern Randolph beat East Carteret 7-6. Miles Cox was 2-for-2 with an RBI. Landon Albright had two hits, including a double, and an RBI. Cade McCallum had an RBI single.
■ Dylan Hunt had an RBI single in Trinity’s 8-1 loss to Community School of Davidson.
■ Collins had three hits, including a double, and three RBIs in Providence Grove’s 12-3 win over Union Pines. Jacob Flinchum had a single, double and three RBIs. Moore also had two hits. Thomas had an RBI triple and pitched six innings. Caden Waugh doubled in a run and Grant Underwood had an RBI single.
■ Dillow singled, tripled and drove in three runs in Randleman’s come-from-behind 9-7 win over Southern Nash. Andrews had two hits and an RBI. Hill had two hits and an RBI. Vanover singled in a run and Ashton Poe got the win in relief.
■ Hunter rapped two hits, including a double, and had four RBIs as Uwharrie Charter drubbed Salem (Va.) 12-1. Andyn Wilson had a two-run single and Wilson Boswell doubled in a run. Rusty Wheless and Keaton Hill had two hits apiece. Hill allowed two hits and no runs in four innings.
■ Chance Holdaway had a three-run triple in Eastern Randolph’s 4-3 loss to Croatan. McCallum had two hits.
■ Brody Little and Nick Soles blasted back-to-back solo home runs in Trinity’s 12-3 loss to Community School of Davidson. Peyton Williams had two hits while Cameron Hill and Indiana Hill doubled.
■ Greyson Atkinson had two hits in Wheatmore’s 17-1 loss to Spring Valley (W.Va.). Goddard had an RBI single.
■ Lucas Connor had a double in Southwestern Randolph’s 9-0 loss to Southeast Alamance.
■ Suddeth had an RBI single in Asheboro’s 2-1 loss to Westchester Country Day. Immel had two hits.
■ Elijah Sykes was 3-for-4 with a home run, double and three RBIs as Southwestern Randolph overwhelmed Wheatmore 16-2. Brady Armfield had two doubles and two RBIs. Carson Williams and Grant Kirk both had two hits with two RBIs. Matthew Blankenship pitched a one-hitter with eight strikeouts in five innings.

■ Gabriel Jaimes was 2-for-2 with three RBIs in Asheboro’s 9-5 win over Winston-Salem Christian. Sam Gore and Suddeth both had an RBI single. Daniel Jaimes and Connor Steele each had an RBI. Gabriel Jaimes allowed four hits and a run in 3 2/3 innings.
■ Connor was 4-for-4 with a pair of doubles and five RBIs as Southwestern Randolph crushed Thomasville 20-1. Carson Coltrane went 3-for-3 with an RBI. Armfield was 2-for-2 with two RBIs. Logan Weidman was 2-for-3 with two RBIs. Lane Poole had a two-run double and finished with three RBIs. Kirk added a run-scoring single. Sykes was 1-for-1 with two RBI and pitched a five-inning one-hitter with seven strikeouts.
■ Lukas Usterbowski had Wheatmore’s lone hit in the Warriors’ 11-1 loss to Westchester Country Day.

Softball
■ Cailyn York and Ruby Caudle both smashed two-run homers in Providence Grove’s 5-4 win over North Stanly. Campbell Ziemba pitched a complete game with nine strikeouts.
■ Katelyn West belted two home runs along with a double and drove in three runs as Southwestern Randolph edged Randleman 9-8. Kami Dunn also homered, tripled and drove in four runs. Maddie Strider had two doubles and Mylee Strider pitched two innings of relief for the win.
Kaylee Phillips led Randleman with a home run, triple and four RBIs. Addyson Dees went 3-for-3 while Kinzie Ivey had two doubles and three RBIs.
■ Kadie Green had three hits, including a triple, and three RBIs as Randleman downed Providence Grove 6-2. Dees had two hits and an RBI. Ivey doubled in a run and Phillips had an RBI single. Ella Rogers delivered a two-run single and pitched a four-hitter with seven strikeouts.
Ziemba homered and drove in Providence Grove’s other run.
■ Bristol Marine had three hits, including a double and triple, and four RBIs in Southwestern Randolph’s 11-1 romp over South Stokes. Nauttica Parrish had two hits and an RBI. West doubled in a run. Alyssa Harris, Sara-Kate Marion, Maddie Strider and Maylee Strider had RBI singles. Harris hurled a no-hitter, allowing an unearned run, and struck out three.
■ Cailyn York had two doubles and two RBIs in Providence Grove’s 9-5 loss to South Stokes. Adi Johnson also had two hits. Carly Lambert had a three-run double.
■ Natalie Roach had a single, double and four RBIs in Randleman’s 7-2 win over North Stanly. Aiyanna Hunt pitched a six-hitter with four strikeouts.
■ Dunn smashed a three-run homer to power Southwestern Randolph to a 4-3 win over High Point Christian. Jada Freeland and Dunn were both 3-for-3. West pitched a complete game.
College Softball
■ Former Providence Grove star Makayla McClain broke the Appalachian State record with her 18th home run of the season against Marshall. The previous record was set in 2009.
