Last week: 18-2
“Everybody should be proud of their records, although one should be a little more proud than the other three. But there’s still plenty of time for Tony to give games away (I still don’t know what that means), for Ray to ask a question that has nothing to do with football and for Megan to make an unlikely charge.”
NORTH DAVIDSON AT ASHEBORO — The Black Knights have had trouble scoring. Asheboro has had trouble stopping opponents. It’s time for AHS to start a late-season run. AHS, 34-20.
RANDLEMAN AT SW RANDOLPH — SWR has been up and down this season, looking impressive at times and struggling in others. Randleman has been impressive all year. RHS, 42-21.
EASTERN RANDOLPH AT PROVIDENCE GROVE — Never an easy trip to make for a visiting team. However, ER handles it well. ER, 34-17.
FLORIDA STATE AT DUKE — If we had to pick this game at the beginning of the year, would there be a doubt about picking FSU? Well, it’s not the beginning of the year anymore. Duke, 27-23.
NC STATE AT CALIFORNIA — Long trip after some disappointing setbacks. But Cal has lost three in a row. Cal, 30-24.
PANTHERS AT COMMANDERS —If you like high scoring football games, tune into this one. It may be the first team to stop the other one wins. Commanders, 47-34.

“[Gives slap to the back of the head] That one’s on me boss. Chokes, stupid calls. Giving another away, only to turn around and get it back on the one I really bought into. I just gotta quit giving these early gamers away and I’ll finish off this gap and hopscotch to the front.”
North Davidson at Asheboro — Can North Davidson hold the score down like they have been this year and manage to put up more than Asheboro? Got to lean a little to the MPC history and North Davidson being pretty good no matter the season. ND, 24-21.
Randleman at SW Randolph — Unbeaten rolls on. Nobody’s got a tiger by the tail — but they’re trying to grab hold. Randleman, 33-17.
Eastern Randolph at Providence Grove — Unbeaten part deaux, part deaux roll. ER, 38-17.
Florida State at Duke — I’d love to think it would be so — and it could. But I’m not hating on Florida State that bad. FSU, 27-23.
N.C. State at California — Still not getting it turned around. Let ’em howl at the moon in hope. Cal, 27-16.
Panthers at Commanders — I said it, I meant it. I picked them the last time two weeks ago, when we’d lost 2-3 defensive starters and the fluke turnaround for one week melted away against Da Bears. Washington, 33-18.

“Oh, Buckeyes. Why?!? Despite that pick, I’m coming off a pretty good week. Alas, I’m still near the basement and Dennis is miles away.”
NORTH DAVIDSON AT ASHEBORO — It’s Homecoming for the Blue Comets. That means they’ll win, right? AHS, 28-21.
RANDLEMAN AT SW RANDOLPH — This one might come down to defense, and the Tigers have been a lot more stingy than the Cougars this season. RHS, 24-14.
EASTERN RANDOLPH AT PROVIDENCE GROVE — Speaking of D, the Wildcats are allowing just over nine points a game. The Patriots are at home, but it’s going to be tough to find the endzone. ER, 34-10.
FLORIDA STATE AT DUKE — Back in the day, this pick would have been ridiculous. This is no longer back in the day. I’m showing my age, aren’t I? Duke, 24-21.
NC STATE AT CALIFORNIA — Cal barely lost to a ranked Pitt squad, and this is a long road trip for the Wolfpack. Cal, 21-13.
PANTHERS AT COMMANDERS — Are the Panthers going to win again? Ever? Not this week. Commanders, 27-17.

“Another week, another blah picking effort. Milkman can’t even get excited about his cream rising to the top analogy; pretty sure cream of wheat doesn’t rise to the top of anything. Milkman has got to quit picking teams he wants to win and pick teams who are going to win.”
NORTH DAVIDSON AT ASHEBORO — ND puts 35 up on Montgomery Central, then gets shut out by Oak Grove, which gave up 28 to Asheboro. In other words, what the heck pick do I make here? AHS, 35-34.
RANDLEMAN AT SW RANDOLPH — The biggest obstacle to the Tigers these days is staying focused ahead of the looming showdown with ER. Look past SWR and you might get bitten. RHS, 28-15.
EASTERN RANDOLPH AT PROVIDENCE GROVE — Eastern has the same problem as Randleman. Got to see the tree, then the forest. ER, 35-16.
FLORIDA STATE AT DUKE — The Blue Devils’ propensity to wait until the second half to start playing finally caught up to them in their last game. Maybe the off week cured that ill. Duke, 30-24.
NC STATE AT CALIFORNIA — State’s new freshman QB looks good one play, like a freshman the next. The Wolfpack’s D is also equally frustrating. Cal, 24-20.
PANTHERS AT COMMANDERS — I keep waiting for the Commanders to wake up and start playing like they have in recent years. I suspect I’ll have to wait at least another week. Commanders, 31-16.
