“I wish I could lose weight as quickly as I lost this lead. Oh well.”

ASHEBORO AT SW RANDOLPH — Both are coming off losses, but this is one of those games where it really doesn’t matter what happened a week ago. AHS has a huge lead in the series (24-5), but SWR won last year 32-13. AHS, 27-20.
PARKWOOD AT EASTERN RANDOLPH — It’s Hall of Fame Night and I don’t think those inducted are going to be disappointed. ER, 40-20.
NORTH CAROLINA AT DUKE — So, a James Madi-son team that scored 13 points against Gardner-Webb scores 70 against the Tar Heels at UNC. Hmmmm. Duke, 42-35.
No. 23 NORTHERN ILLINOIS AT NC STATE — Time for the Wolfpack to show the world who they really are as they take down a ranked team! Please. NC State 30, N. Illinois 20.
LOUISIANA AT WAKE FOREST — Why oh why am I going against Wake Forest at home? Louisiana, 27-20.
BENGALS AT PANTHERS — Unfortunately, and I was there for every home game for the 2001 season, it’s looking a lot like it did back then (1-15). Maybe a QB change will help. Maybe (probably) it won’t. Bengals, 35-10.

“If I would quit giving  some of these away,  they wouldn’t be in this. Yeah, that’s the  ticket. I’m giving them  some hope. Yeah.  Letting them — feel  good. Just setting  them up for the big  blowout finish. Yeah ...  Hey, that’s my story and I’m sticking to it.”

ASHEBORO AT SW RANDOLPH — What a night for the Blue Comets Friday night. So close. For the Cougars, this will tell them how ready they are for the PAC schedule coming. AHS, 23-20.
PARKWOOD AT EASTERN RANDOLPH — I think last week was a game many may have felt was too close for comfort. But the Wildcats will get to stretch out their claws again this week getting ready for the PAC run. ER, 42-17.
NORTH CAROLINA AT DUKE — Another year, another over-rated, overhyped by their own journalism grads and another year of hoping they get to bowl eligibility. Duke, 31-17.
NO. 23 NORTHERN ILLINOIS AT NC STATE — And to think all the illusions of grandeur have fallen so hard. Now, I didn’t say delusions. That one was already used. N. Illinois, 30-23.
LOUISIANA AT WAKE FOREST — The week off helped ... I think. Wake Forest, 24-17.
BENGALS AT PANTHERS — The one pick I’ll never worry about picking more than a week in advnace - IT’LL NEVER CHANGE! Is there a more dysfunctional franchise in the NFL? I think not. Bengals, 30-13.

“And to think — I used to be good at this stuff. Maybe I need to invest in some of that Rust-Oleum stuff. But, c’mon — how many people thought James Madison would put up 70 points on UNC? *crickets* ”

ASHEBORO AT SW RANDOLPH — Both teams lost last week, but the Blue Comets took Randleman into OT. My (probably faulty) logic says ... AHS, 28-24.

PARKWOOD AT EASTERN RANDOLPH — I’ll take an undefeated Wildcats team at home any day of the week. ER, 34-14.
NORTH CAROLINA AT DUKE — After the drubbing last week, I’m thinking the Tar Heels will be looking to put up more of a football score than a basketball score. UNC, 24-21.
NO. 23 NORTHERN ILLINOIS AT NC STATE — Speaking of drubbings, the Wolfpack defense decided to take a rest last week. I’m thinking they’ll be back this week. NC State, 32-14
LOUISIANA AT WAKE FOREST — The Demon Deacs had a rest last week and this game is at home, so ... Wake, 35-21.
BENGALS AT PANTHERS — Battle of the cats! Both teams have been looking more like kittens this season (no offense to kittens). I’m gonna do it. Panthers, 24-22.

“I don’t know where in the mysteries of the universe these picks fall (probably just below why you drive on a parkway and park on a drive-way), but they don’t get enough credit. Are you not entertained? OK, don’t answer that.”

ASHEBORO AT SW RANDOLPH — Were the Cougars looking ahead to this game last week? Will AHS start adding wins to the respect its gaining? Looking like another to-the-wire fun one. ... AHS, 30-27.

PARKWOOD AT EASTERN RANDOLPH — A 53-yarder on the last play to win last week? That will get the team’s attention during practice this week. ER, 31-17.
NORTH CAROLINA AT DUKE — Can Duke score enough to win this game? I have a sneaking suspicion UNC makes amends this week, but my hands just won’t let me pick the Heels. DUKE, 34-31.
NO. 23 NORTHERN ILLINOIS AT NC STATE — If State hadn’t shown some life in the second half last week, I wouldn’t be missing this pick this week. The Wolfpack gets me again. NC State, 27-24

LOUISIANA AT WAKE FOREST — The Sun Belt teams don’t play around (ask UNC and App State after both teams’ drubbings last week). Wake avoids the drubbing, but ... Louisiana, 30-26.

BENGALS AT PANTHERS — The Bengals are going to break loose as some point. The Panthers cheer-leaders won’t be the Top Cats on the field when this one ends. Bengals, 37-23.
