Randleman gets three victories on the week

Even after losing most of its players to graduation from its two-time state championship teams, Randleman has asserted itself again as a team to be reckoned with, earning three more wins last week. Here’s a recap.

 

*Seth Way allowed one hit in six innings with 10 strikeouts and one walk as Randleman pounded Eastern Randolph 9-0. He was also 2-for-3 with 2 doubles and 2 RBIs. Hunter Atkins went 4-for-4 and scored 3 runs for the Tigers. Caleb Dunn was 2-for-4 with 3 RBIs. Riley Edwards was 2-for-4 with 2 RBIs and pitched a scoreless seventh inning. Jake Riddle was was 2-for-4.

 

*Andrew Canter had two hits and three RBIs in Providence Grove’s 9-5 win over Southwestern Randolph. Tyler Foust had two hits and two RBIs. Joe Coltrane got two hits, including a double, and an RBI.

 

Grant Kirk had two hits for Southwestern Randolph.

 

*Tanner Marsh homered, doubled, singled and drove in three runs as Asheboro blanked Uwharrie Charter 9-0. Amari Godwin also had three hits and drove in a run. Cohen Caviness and Chandler Macon each had two hits. Connor Adams, Macon and Godwin combined for the shutout. Adams struck out 7 in 5 innings. Macon (three strikeouts) and Godwin each pitched a scoreless inning.

 

*Way went 2-for-4 with an RBI in Randleman’s 6-4 win over North Davidson. Austin Lemons had a sacrifice fly. The Tigers managed just three hits but took advantage of five walks and four errors by the Black Knights. Jake Riddle got the win in relief, allowing two runs on four hits in four innings with five strikeouts.

 

*Caleb McNeill had three hits and two RBIs as Southwestern Randolph swamped Montgomery Central 15-3. Adam Cole had three hits and an RBI. Brady Armfield allowed no hits in four innings, striking out eight. Eli Gravely and Armfield each had two hits.

 

*Lemons tossed six shutout innings, allowing three hits and striking out seven in Randleman’s 6-0 win over Eastern Randolph. At the plate, Lemons was 3-for-4 with an RBI. Chesney Welch had a double and three RBIs. Hunter Atkins was 2-for-3 and pitched a scoreless seventh inning.

 

*Grant Dalton had a triple, single and RBI in Uwharrie Charter’s 10-2 win over Bethany Community. Jake Hunter had two hits, including an RBI. Troy Carver smashed a three-run homer and Ben Mendinger doubled and drove in a run. Caleb Stickle got the win.

 

*Jonah Campbell threw six innings of three-hit ball, striking out four, as Southwestern Randolph blanked Providence Grove 6-0. Tyler Parks had three hits and an RBI for the Cougars. Gravely had two hits and two RBIs. Landon Williamson had two hits and an RBI. Austin Harvell pitched a scoreless seventh inning.
