BOYS BASKETBALL

 

*Jerquarius Stanback scored 27 points in Asheboro’s 73-33 win over Uwharrie Charter. D.J. Headed added 14 points for the Blue Comets.

 

Ashton Troutman led UCA with 15 points and Alex Mackenzie had 10.

 

*Davonte Brooks led a balanced effort with 10 points as Eastern Randolph throttled Randleman 58-36. Pearce Leonard and Jani Norwood each had nine points for the Wildcats.

 

Chase Farlow led Randleman with 10 points and Tyshaun Goldston had 9.

 

*Thomas Leal scored 20 points in Southwestern Randolph’s 58-44 win over Providence Grove. Marcus Robertson added 12 points and Nathan Ellis had 10.

 

*Dominic Payne scored 29 points in Trinity’s 60-48 win over Wheatmore. Dylan Hodges added 15 points for the Bulldogs and Brandon Campbell had 14.

 

*Ellis scored 20 points as Southwestern Randolph beat East Davidson 53-46. Leal had 10 points and Kearns Trotter 9.

 

*Greg Price scored 15 points in Randleman’s 52-46 win over Oak Grove. Christian Long added 12 points for the Tigers. Goldston had 9 points, 11 rebounds and 3 blocks.

 

*Price scored 13 points and Goldston had 11 as Randleman edged Southwestern Randolph 34-33.

 

Kearns Trotter led Southwestern Randolph with 17 points.

 

*Payne finished off his week with a 41-point outburst as Trinity got past Uwharrie Charter 65-61. Hodges added 18 points for the Bulldogs.

 

GIRLS BASKETBALL

 

*Ashara Spruill scored 19 points as Uwharrie Charter beat Asheboro 53-34. Chloe Painter tallied 14 points and Savannah Surrratt had 9.

 

Kimry Comer and Kaylen Nance each scored nine points for Asheboro.

 

*Elizabeth York scored 22 points in Randleman’s 53-40 win over Eastern Randolph. Gracyn Hall added 19 points and Jordan Booker had 10.

 

Kenly Whitaker led Eastern Randolph with a game-high 24 points and Brecken Snotherly had 10.

 

*Caressa King scored 18 points while Maddie Small had 13 and Jordin George 10 as Southwestern Randolph beat Providence Grove 60-35.

 

Jada Nixon led Providence Grove with 12 points and Allie Frazier had 11.

 

*Autumn Gentry scored 23 points in Trinity’s 54-44 win over Wheatmore. Kennedy Jackson had 18 points and 13 rebounds for the Bulldogs. Kaelyn Whiteheart had 13 points, 8 rebounds and 5 assists.

 

Brianna Hill led Wheatmore with 18 points and Kennedy Routh had 11.

 

*Sion Murrain scored 22 points in Asheboro’s 64-49 loss to Western Alamance. Salem Lee added 11 points.

 

*King scored 16 points, George had 14 and Kenzie Martin 11 in Southwestern Randolph’s 63-42 win over East Davidson. 

 

*Snotherly scored 28 points, grabbed 6 rebounds, had 4 assists and 2 steals in Eastern Randolph’s 66-59 loss to Williams. Whitaker had 16 points, 7 rebounds, 5 assists and 3 steals.

 

*Hall scored 22 points in Randleman’s 65-46 win over Oak Grove. York added 17 points and Petty 12.

 

*Snotherly scored 28 points for the second game in a row as Eastern Randolph beat Wheatmore 65-44. She also had four steals. Peyton Perdue had 16 points and 7 rebounds. Whitaker had 8 points, 5 assists and 4 steals. Ziera Watson had 8 points, 5 rebounds and 5 steals. Logan Beaver had 5 points and 14 rebounds.

 

*Hall scored 15 points, Gracie Beane had 13 and Petty 12 in Randleman’s 55-41 win over Southwestern Randolph. 

 

Alley Lowe led Southwestern Randolph with 17 points.

 

*Spruill scored 15 points and Surratt had 11 in Uwharrie Charter’s 44-23 win over Trinity.

 

WRESTLING

 

*Trinity’s Spencer May (120 pounds) was named most outstanding wrestler as the Bulldogs won their Trinity Invitational. Brayden Hall (113), Gavin McCall (132), Baron Justice (152), Gavin Hardister (182) and Joey Smith (220) also won for the Bulldogs.

 

Also winning from the county was Asheboro’s Diego Gutierrez (126).

 

*Bearik Bigelow, Nicholas Desroaches, Xavier Santos, Samuel Salinas, David Curtis, Luke Hughes, Michael Brady, Eddie Soto and Gutierrez were victorious as Asheboro beat Central Davidson 51-28.
