Macie Crutcfhield, player of the year in county softball

Randolph Hub’s 2025 All-Randolph County Softball Team

So many stellar teams, so many talented players, so many great coaches. That is Randolph County softball summed up every season and this year was no different.

Southwestern Randolph, Randleman and Uwharrie Charter Academy all battled for the Piedmont Athletic Conference championship with teams facing challenges from Providence Grove and Wheatmore.

Five teams qualified for state tournaments with Randleman advancing to the 2-A West Regional Championship Series, Southwestern Randolph moving to the third round and UCA playing in third-round state 1-A action.

As usual, selecting the Randolph Hub All-County Softball Team was a very difficult task. Players had to be nominated by their coaches to be eligible. Then the all-county team was selected from that list of nominations, taking into consideration statistics, sportsmanship, leadership and overall contributions to her team.

Player of the Year

Macie Crutchfield, SW Randolph

One of the most dominating pitchers, she had a stellar four-year career for the Cougars and culminated it with an incredible season. She was 11-2 on the mound with 152 strikeouts in 83 2/3 innings pitched. She walked 17 batters all season and had an ERA of 0.25. She held opposing batters to a .122 batting average. At the plate, she hit .429 with a .524 slugging percentage. She had 18 RBIs and 15 runs scored. She was the Piedmont Athletic Conference Pitcher of the Year.

Coach of the Year

Jeff Webster, Randleman

Loaded with underclassmen, Webster had his team competing with the state’s elite 2-A teams this season. The Tigers finished with a 20-7 record and a second-place finish in the PAC. Randleman excelled in the playoffs, showing a maturity level well beyond its years. The Tigers defeated R-S Central 4-2, West Caldwell 3-2, Owen 4-3 and West Stokes 3-1  in the first four rounds to set up the West Regional finals battle with West Wilkes. The Tigers lost a tight Game 1 before falling in Game 2 to the eventual state 2-A champions. Everybody returns for the 2026 season.
