Three teams remained unbeaten after week two, but all of Randolph County’s teams are at least 1-1 after two weeks of play. Here’s a look back at last week’s highlights.
Eastern Randolph 36
Southern Lee 15
The Carter Revelle-Nicah Taylor connection was huge in Eastern Randolph’s 36-15 win over Southern Lee. Taylor had 212 yards and 3 touchdowns receiving. Revelle wound up with 269 yards passing with 4 touchdowns and 2 interceptions. Rayden Smith caught the other touchdown pass and Lucas Smith had a rushing touchdown.
Randleman 56
Cedar Ridge 0
John Kirkpatrick threw four touchdown passes as Randleman routed Cedar Ridge 56-0. Tyshaun Goldston, Amari Ferdna, Lane Swaim and Chad Farlow each had a touchdown catch for the unbeaten Tigers. Edison Fernandez had two rushing touchdowns and Micah Thurston one. Thomas Dobias, Triston Chriscoe and Goldston had interceptions while Farlow recovered a fumble to lead the defense.
East Davidson 38
Trinity 18
Noah Bradley threw for 153 yards and 2 touchdowns with 2 interceptions in Trinity’s 38-18 loss to East Davidson. Brandon Campbell had a touchdown catch.
*In other games, Providence Grove beat Bishop McGuinness 26-20 to improve to 3-0 on the season (see story on page 2B). Wheatmore lost to Ledford 57-7 to drop to 1-2.
In Mid-Piedmont action, Asheboro (1-1) was idle this week. Meanwhile Montgomery Central and Ledford moved to 3-0 with victories and Oak Grove improved to 2-1. Here are the scores:
