Quarterback John Kirkpatrick was 19-of-28 for 310 yards and 2 touchdowns as undefeated Randleman overwhelmed Asheboro 53-14. Kirkpatrick added a rushing touchdown while Tyshaun Goldston caught 8 passes for 174 yards and a touchdown.
Edison Hernandez ran for 120 yards and 2 touchdowns. Jeff Guzman had a touchdown catch and Ty Moton ran for a touchdown. Chase Farlow led the defense with a 69-yard interception return for a touchdown and Christian McLeod kicked a 38-yard field goal.
For Asheboro, Logan Laughlin connected with Amare Godwin for a touchdown and Hamza Khan threw a 68-yard touchdown pass to Ben Luck.
Trinity 14
Union Academy 10
Dominic Payne’s 9-yard touchdown run in the fourth quarter lifted Trinity to a 14-10 win over Union Academy. Payne also caught a 22-yard touchdown pass from Noah Bradley.
Eastern Randolph 40
Central Davidson 19
Lucas Smith ran 15 times for 117 yards in Eastern Randolph’s 40-19 win over Central Davidson. Quarterback Carter Revelle had 91 yards rushing and a touchdown.
Nicah Taylor caught 7 passes for 148 yards and 2 touchdowns. DeSean Shamburger had a touchdown catch.
Albemarle 32
SW Randolph 6
Albemarle broke from a 6-6 halftime tie and outscored Southwestern Randolph 26-0 in the second half for a 32-6 victory.
Albemarle QB Ander Artis completed 19 of 26 passes, averaging 17.9 yards per completion.
