Randleman continued its shredding of good volleyball opponents last week, and SWR’s soccer team romped as well. Here’s a look
Volleyball
- Lia George posted a double-double of 22 kills and 14 digs along with 5 blocks in Asheboro’s 25-21, 25-22, 20-25, 25-21 win over Central Davidson. Emma Kate Forester also recorded a double-double of 13 kills and 11 blocks. Ady Scherer had 8 kills and 10 blocks. Eva Vuncannon had 27 assists and 3 aces. Emma Little had 19 digs and Anna Grace LeRoy had 19 assists.
- Camden Scott produced a double-double of 14 kills and 16 digs as Randleman swept Providence Grove 25-12, 25-20, 25-21. Haley Hinshaw also had a double-double of 10 kills and 21 digs. Camryn Vickery had 39 assists and 8 digs while Kadie Green had 16 digs. Mollie Hall had nine kills and a block. Ava Jones added 7 kills, 3 aces and 2 blocks.
Addie Morgan had 7 kills and 2 blocks for Providence Grove. Maggie Freeman had 5 kills, Mailey Way had 18 digs and Riley Mazzarone had 12 assists.
- Kayden Faglier had 12 kills in Uwharrie Charter’s 25-12, 25-14, 25-10 sweep of Eastern Randolph. Emory Johnson had 26 assists and Caroline Way had 8 kills. Morgan Lowe had 6 kills while Anna Brewer and Aly Dalton each had 5. Nyasia Wharton contributed four kills.
Cora Sparrow led Eastern Randolph with 4 kills and 2 blocks. Reagan Beaver had 3 kills while Miriana Corea had two blocks and a kill.
- Karrington Batten had 13 kills in Trinity’s 25-11, 25-13, 25-19 sweep of Southern Guilford. Kaitlyn McCoy had 10 kills and 5 aces. Avalynn Johnson had 24 assists, 11 digs and 7 aces. Avery Moffitt had 7 kills and 6 aces.
- Hinshaw had 13 kills and 17 digs in Randleman’s 27-25, 25-21, 25-15 sweep of Asheboro. Scott had 8 kills and 15 digs. Vickery had 32 assists and 9 digs. Green had 24 digs and 3 aces. Natalie Roach had 12 digs and 3 aces. Jones had 6 kills and Mollie Hall had 4.
George paced Asheboro with 12 kills, 11 digs and 3 blocks. Vuncannon had 11 assists and 3 aces. Forester had 6 blocks and Little got 14 digs.
- Gracie Hodgin had 10 kills and 14 digs as Southwestern Randolph beat Oak Grove 25-12, 25-23, 25-19 in a tri-match at McMichael. Caroline Cagle and Jade Matias both had five kills. Cheyenne Dixon had 9 aces and 7 digs. Madilyn Baker had 15 assists and Giannie Small had 10 digs.
- Cagle had 11 kills in Southwestern Randolph’s 25-20, 22-25, 27-25, 25-17 loss to McMichael. Hodgin had 10 kills and 21 digs. Hailey Kennedy had 15 assists and 10 digs. Baker had 21 digs, 13 assists and 3 aces. Kinlin Hulin added 4 kills and 2 blocks.
- Way had 9 kills and 12 digs in Uwharrie Charter’s 3-0 sweep of Richmond County. Brewer added 8 kills and Faglier had 7. Johnson had 22 assists and 5 aces.
- Batten had 22 kills 8 digs and 3 blocks in Trinity’s 25-16, 17-25, 25-21,
27-25 win over Asheboro. McCoy contributed 19 kills, 20 digs, 3 aces and a block. Faith Powell had 24 digs and a pair of aces. Johnson distributed 47 assists.
Forester led Asheboro with 14 kills and also had 8 blocks. Emma Ingold had 6 kills and 10 digs. Little had 15 digs and Scherer had 9 blocks. LeRoy supplied 17 assists and Vuncannon had 2.
- Lara Wiseman pounded 18 kills as Providence Grove outlasted Eastern Randolph 25-23, 18-25, 25-18, 20-25, 15-11. Katelyn Brown had 10 kills, 29 assists, 4 aces and 16 digs while Peyton Whitaker, Freeman and Morgan all had 9 kills. Mailey Way had 33 digs. Mazzarone had 32 assists.
- Scott had 9 kills and 13 digs in Randleman’s 25-21, 25-16, 25-16 sweep of Trinity. Kaylee Phillips and Jones both added five kills. Vickery produced 25 assists, 6 digs and 5 aces. Green and Roach both had nine digs.
Soccer
- Sam Peters and Saul Cortes both scored two goals in Providence Grove’s 10-1 romp over North Stanly. Andre Raya-Cruz, Jefferson Vargus, Oscar Bautista, Alex Castillo, Moises Medine and Jonathan Cortes all netted one goal. Jackson McLiquham, Eric Gonzalez and Peters each had an assist.
- Diego Bustamante scored three goals in Asheboro’s 6-0 shutout of Williams. Cristian Raygadas, Cam Letterlough and Carlos Castaneda scored the other goals. Letterlough provided two assists while Ozmar Martinez, Alexander Diaz and Raygadas each had one.
- Bustamante and Letterlough both scored two goals in Asheboro’s 4-2 win over Southeast Alamance.
- Owen Leonard and Francisco Vences each scored two goals in Randleman’s 4-2 victory over Oak Grove. Vences also had two assists while Alex Raymundo and Erick Delgado each had one.
- Ivan Collazo scored the goal and Delgado got the assist in Randleman’s 1-1 draw with Salisbury.
- Fernando Hernandez scored three goals in Southwestern Randolph’s 8-0 rout of East Davidson. Aaron Avina, Kevin Garcia, Yael Rebollar Cruz, Gio Hernandez and Jonathan Lopez Degollado scored one goal each. Gustavo Dominguez Garcia, Gadiel Pantoja Negrete, Braydon Tyl, Kevin Garcia and Fernando Hernandez and Rebollar Ortiz all had assists.
- Cayden Pugh scored the goal in Trinity’s 1-1 tie with Southern Guilford.
Tennis
- Ashleigh Paige, Delaney Aldrich, Bella Branson and Laken Sexton won in singles as Uwharrie Charter edged Southwestern Randolph 5-4. The doubles team of Macie Epps/Paige also won.
Caroline Farlow and Lexi Owen won in singles for Southwestern Randolph. The doubles teams of Scarlett Kyle/Emily Hamilton and Ashlynn Harbor/Owen won, too.
- Audrey Frazier, Maya Barber, Carolina Tidwell, Abby Greeson, Alisa Shaw and Olivia Lawson swept the singles in Providence Grove’s 9-0 win over Wheatmore. The doubles teams of Frazier/Barber, Tidwell/Lawson and Liz Shoe/Lawson also won.
- Frazier, Tidwell, Barber and Greeson won in singles as Providence Grove downed Southwestern Randolph 6-3. The doubles teams of Frazier/Barber Greeson/Lambert won.
Owen and Harbor won in singles for Southwestern Randolph as did the doubles team of Kyle/Hamilton.
- Blair Thomas, Malaika Khan, Charlotte Smith and Madalynn Adams won in singles as Asheboro beat Southwestern Randolph 7-2. The doubles teams of Malaika Khan/Thomas and Yusra Khan/Adams won in doubles.
Hamilton and Owens won singles matches for Southwestern Randolph.
- The doubles team of Bella Dill/Leah Puckett won for Wheatmore in the Warriors’ 8-1 loss to North Stanly.
Cross Country
- Wheatmore’s Scarlett Hildreth was seventh overall in the girls’ race in an 11-team meet hosted by North Stanly at Fisher River Park. The Warriors were sixth in the team standings.
Golf
- Asheboro’s Paylina Wilson shot a career-best 50 to finish third in a tournament with Central Davidson, East Davidson and West Davidson at Winding Creek.
