Randleman and Trinity entered the week tied atop the PACT-7 conference standings with 4-0 starts. Asheboro’s getting a chance to fine-tune some before conference play begins in the Mid-Piedmont 3-A conference.
Here’s a look at some highlights from last week.
-Seth Way went 2-for-4 with 2 RBIs and struck out 12 in five innings while allowing no earned runs as Randleman downed Wheatmore 9-4. Austin Lemons was also 2-for-4 with 2 RBIs. Hunter Atkins and Jacob Riddle were both 2-for-3 with an RBI.
Parker Kines was 2-for-3 with an RBI for Wheatmore.
-Connor Adams collected three hits, including a double, and RBI in Asheboro’s 7-6 win over Eastern Randolph. Cohen Caviness also had three hits for the Blue Comets. Tanner Marsh had two hits. Davis Gore pitched 1 2/3 innings of relief, striking out three, to get the win.
*Andrew Canter doubled in a run and Brady Collins had an RBI single as Providence Grove edged Uwharrie Charter 3-2. Andrew Thomas allowed one run and four hits with nine strikeouts in five innings to pick up the win.
Grat Dalton and Ben Mendinger each had an RBI single for Uwharrie Charter. Carter Brown had two hits for the Eagles.
*Andrew Canter had three hits, including a double, and RBI in Providence Grove’s 11-5 win over Seaforth. Jayten Beasley and Logan Fox each banged out two hits for the Patriots. Fox also had an RBI. Lemuel Coltrane doubled in a run. Brady Collins got the win.
*Atkins went 3-for-4 with a home run and 4 RBIs in Randleman’s 12-2 pounding of Wheatmore. Riley Edwards and John Kirkpatrick each had a hit and two RBIs. Lemons scattered eight hits in six innings and struck out 13.
Mason Rich and Tyler Kimball both homered for Wheatmore. Jake Parks and Clay Hill were each 2-for-3.
*Jake Little had two hits, including a double, and two RBIs as Trinity beat Southwestern Randolph 10-5. Landon Mowery had two hits, including a double, and RBI. Little got the win while Mowery struck out 6 in 2 2/3 innings.
Adam Cole homered and singled for Southwestern Randolph.
*Landen Zephir and Carter Brown both had two hits and an RBI in Uwharrie Charter’s 5-0 win over Providence Grove. Jake Hunter, helped by four double plays, scattered nine hits and struck out four for the shutout win.
Joe Coltrane had two hits for Providence Grove.
*Marsh smashed a three-run homer and double among his three hits as Asheboro outslugged Eastern Randolph 11-8. Josh Meadows, Adams and Gore had RBI singles. Gore got the win in relief.
