GIRLS BASKETBALL

 

*Brecken Snotherly scored 32 points in Eastern Randolph's 59-52 loss to Southwestern Randolph. The East Tennessee State recruit surpassed 1,000 points for her career as a Wildcat. She has 1,661 career points, which includes one season at Winston-Salem Christian.

 

Jordin George led Southwestern Randolph with 15 points while Kenzie Martin had 12 and Mollie Strider 11. 

 

*Gracyn Hall scored 16 points and grabbed 14 rebounds in Randleman’s 62-51 win over Uwharrie Charter. Elizabeth York also had 16 points for the Tigers and Gracie Beane added 14.

 

Savannah Surratt led UCA with 18 points, including five 3-pointers. Ashara Spruill had 17 points.

 

*Snotherly scored 21 points and got 7 rebounds in Eastern Randolph’s 58-11 rout of Jordan-Matthews. Ziera Watson had 9 points and 5 rebounds.

 

*Snotherly capped a brilliant week by scoring 34 points in Eastern Randolph’s 58-42 victory over Uwharrie Charter. 

 

Spruill led UCA with 19 points and Surratt had 15.

 

BOYS BASKETBALL

 

*Davonte Brooks had another huge night for Eastern Randolph, scoring 29 points in the Wildcats’ 70-55 win over Southwestern Randolph.

 

Sean Adkins led the Cougars with 19 points and Landon Williamson had 11.

 

*Dominic Payne scored 30 points as Trinity ran past Providence Grove 88-59. It was the seventh time Payne had 30 or more points in the 2022-23 season. Dylan Hodges added 26 points for the Bulldogs and Brandon Campbell had 18.

 

*Greg Price scored 22 points in Randleman’s 68-42 victory over Uwharrie Charter. Tyshaun Goldston had 19 points for the Tigers and Christian Long added 12.

 

Ashton Troutman paced UCA with 23 points.

 

*Riley Strickland scored 20 points in Wheatmore’s 68-52 loss to Oak Grove. Gavin Strickland had 11 points for the Warriors.

 

*Jerquarius Stanback scored 26 points in Asheboro’s 74-56 win over Oak Grove. Hakeeme Butler added 15 points for the Blue Comets while Tanner Marsh had 13.

 

*Adkins scored 19 points for the second straight game as Southwestern Randolph beat Wheatmore 69-61. Nathan Ellis contributed 17 points for the Cougars while Marcus Robertson had 12 and Thomas Leal 10.

 

Tristan Hammonds led Wheatmore with 22 points and Riley Strickland had 17.

 

WRESTLING

 

*Bearik Bigelow, Xavier Santos, Diego Gutierrez, Marco Benitez, Samuel Salinas, Adam Curry, Jaylon Moore, Christian Diaz, Dylan Diaz, Michael Brady and Eddie Soto won as Asheboro drubbed North Davidson 60-17.

 

*Brennan Worrell, Ethan Hines, Jack McArthur, Aldo Hernandez, Lorenzo Alston, Jair Ulloa, Carson Robinson, Grayson Roberts, Corbin Grissom, Jaden Maness, Caden Bond and Devonte Harrison were the winners as Uwharrie Charter beat Eastern Randolph 70-9.

 

Carter Self and Adrian Lopez won for Eastern Randolph.

 

*Ross Allred, Zach King, Bryant Harrelson, Oscar Bautista, Colton Wood and Colin DuVall were all 2-0 for Providence Grove in a tri-match as the Patriots swept N.C. Leadership Academy and Randleman.

 

Randleman’s Kolby Garner, Caden Thorne and Braxton Walker were all 2-0.
