State soccer playoffs begin; SWR No. 1 seed

ASHEBORO — All of Randolph County’s eight boys soccer teams qualified for the NCHSAA state tournament, which starts Tuesday night (Nov. 4) with winners advancing to action in the second round, scheduled for Thursday, Nov. 6.

In the 4-A East, Southwestern Randolph earned the top seed and received a bye while No. 9 Randleman hosts No. 24 Uwharrie Charter Academy.

In 3-A East play, No. 20 Wheatmore travels to No. 13 Hendersonville, while in the 3-A West, No. 12 Providence Grove hosts No. 21 Goldsboro and No. 18 Eastern Randolph travels to No. 15 Northeastern. No. 7 Trinity earned a first-round bye.

In 6-A West action, Asheboro earned a 10th seed and will play No. 23 St. Stephens at home Tuesday night.
