Tigers climb over Bunker Hill

It was a busy week on the gridiron, with some Randolph County teams even playing twice due to postponements from the previous week. Here’s a look at what happened.

 

Trinity wins twice

The Bulldogs edged Albemarle 34-28 on Monday as Daniel Rogers ran 32 times for 198 yards and a touchdown. Zorn Williams had 59 yards and a pair of touchdowns on 11 carries. Quarterback Noah Bradley was 5-of-7 for 72 yards and a touchdown. Bradley also had a touchdown run. Nazir Staton caught a 7-yard touchdown pass.

- Bradley had a sensational night in Trinity’s 54-22 rout of East Davidson. The 6-foot-3 senior was 16-of-18 for 338 yards and 6 touchdowns with 2 interceptions. Gage Griffiths had 2 receptions for 96 yards and 2 touchdowns. Leyland White caught 3 passes for 83 yards and a touchdown. Cam Nelson, Kha’Dn Fuller and Ethan Willard all had a touchdown catch.

Zaire Gill ran 15 times for 57 yards and a touchdown while Rogers had 62 yards on 13 carries. Cason Dillard recovered a fumble in the end zone for a touchdown.

 

Randleman beats Bunker Hill

- Quarterback John Kirkpatrick fired three touchdown passes covering 42, 32 and 19 yards to Tyshaun Goldston in the undefeated Tigers’ 35-21 win over Bunker Hill. All three of those came in the second quarter as Randleman built a 21-0 lead.

Bunker Hill stormed back to tie the game before Kirkpatrick put the Tigers back in front for good on a 2-yard keeper. Brandon Boone’s 22-yard fumble return for a touchdown rounded out the scoring.

Kirkpatrick was 19-of-29 for 275 yards. Goldston had 9 catches for 174 yards. 

 

SWR routs North Moore

n Noah Stills ran for two touchdowns as the Cougars overcame a slow start to beat North Moore 34-7 in a Monday game. Asher Perkins, Brody Shepard and Owen Whelan also had rushing touchdowns. North Moore led 7-0 at halftime. SWR had an open date on Friday.

 

Providence Grove falls to Bishop McGuinness

Jackson Rhyne ran for a touchdown and Carson Jones kicked a field goal in Providence Grove’s 14-10 loss to Bishop McGuinness. Malachi Combo led the defense with an interception.
