Unsung Heroes

The Randolph Sports Council held its annual Unsung Heroes Banquet on Oct. 24, at Snyder Farms Restaurant, honoring a female and male student from each of the Asheboro City and Randolph County high schools. 

Davidson-Davie Community College Director of Athletics and men's basketball coach Matt Ridge was the guest speaker. 

Here are the honorees, pictured from left: Asheboro High School's Darius Headen and Kaylen Nance, Eastern Randolph High School's Holley Lowe, Providence Grove High School's Allie Joshua Ward and Allie Frazier, Randleman High School's Hallie Sawyer and Caleb Dunn, Southwestern Randolph High School's Madison Blakenship and Eli Gravely, Trinity High School's Torrie Davis and Bowden Gibson, and Wheatmore High School's Cooper Black. Not pictured are ER's Angel Hernandez Herrera and WHS' Allison Hill.
