Wheatmore shines at swim meet

In a light week because of the remainder of the Christmas holiday, here are some highlights from last week.

Boys' Basketball

- Julian Mosley scored 13 points and Levi Dalke added 10 as Southwestern Randolph edged Chatham Charter 40-39. Brayden Chapman added eight points.

Girls' Basketball

- Maddie Strider scored 19 points in Southwestern Randolph’s 61-20 rout of Chatham Charter. Kenzie Martin had 9 points while Gracie Hodgin had 8. Macie Allred had seven points.

Boys' Wrestling

- Dylan Harris, Terry Gillespie, Johnathon Wall, Ayden Summers, Nolan Hammonds, Spencer Moore, Zach Resendes, Dominic Hittepole, Noah Browning and Johnathon Kelly were the winners as Wheatmore beat Southwestern Randolph 55-21.

Emmitt Lewis, Michael Jaimes, Ayden Walker and Jose Flores won for Southwestern Randolph.

- Jeven Palmeri, Aiden Burkholder, Stephen Cross, Omega Edge, Simeon Hamett, Jayden Henry, Corbin Heugly, Baron Justice, Zane Schloemer, Lawson Coltrane, Jeremyiah McCray, Fernando Hernandez and Joseph Trahan won in Trinity’s 75-6 rout of Thomasville.

- Jeremiah Payne, Aiden Poplin, Ayden Terwilliger, Brandon Naquin, Connor Pritchard, Mitchell Freeman, Johnathon Martinez, Nick Straughn, Charles Villaggio and William Varner were victorious in Providence Grove’s 56-20 win over Randleman.

Randleman winners were Alex Raymundo, Jaxton Strickland, Braxton Trotter and Braxton Walker.

- Ayven Virasone Chitavong, Paxton Kearns, Andrew White, Brennan Worrell, Brandon Jordan, Caden Thorne, Lorenzo Alston, Aiden Foster, Caden Bond, Rylan Alvarez, Michael Shropshire and Jesse Bowles won in Uwharrie Charter’s 66-10 victory over Eastern Randolph.

David Lambright and Jamie Crabtree won for Eastern Randolph.

Swimming

- Wheatmore swept a PAC meet at High Point Swim Club, with the boys holding off Randleman and the girls winning by a large margin.

Winning for the Wheatmore girls were the 200-meter medley relay (Jillian Wolfe, Paislee Hollifiield, Sydney Hall, Sophie Williamson), Hall (200-meter individual medley, 400-meter free), Wolfe (50-meter free), Williamson (100-meter butterfly), the 200-meter free relay (Wolfe, Williamson, Hollifield, Hall), and Hollifield (100-meter breaststroke).

Winning for the Randleman girls were Emma Herring (200-meter free) and the 400-meter free relay (Herring, Samantha Marin, Layla York, Kendall Fortson).

Winning for the Wheatmore boys were the 200-meter medley relay (Alexis Vega-Torres, Landon Weeks, Colten Osborne, William York), Jaden Kilcullen (200-meter free, 100-meter backstroke), and Osborne (50-meter free, 100-meter butterfly).

Winning for the Randleman boys were Cannon Eggleston (200-meter individual medley), the 200-meter free relay (Eggleston, Skyler Poe, Gavin Morabito, Reid Herring), Herring (100-meter breaststroke) and the 400-meter free relay (Eggleston, Poe, Morabito, Herring).

Winning for the Uwharrie Charter girls was Megan Becker (100-meter free, 100-meter backstroke).

Winning for the Providence Grove boys was Austin Williams (100-meter free, 400-meter free).
