First time’s a winner!

Leatrice Brothers of Kennametal is the first of 10 local raffle winners to test her key in the United Way of Randolph County’s Annual Car Giveaway — and it fit, much to her surprise and the surprise of other keyholders waiting their turn.

Brothers became the owner of the Nissan Versa pro-vided by Asheboro Auto Mall, which partnered with the local United Way to offer the generous incentive for 2022 campaign donors to give at least $100 or more. 

Other finalists were Carol Maness, CUOC; Chris Ingold, Randolph Electric Membership Corp.; Ernesto Tapia, Technimark; Kristy Umfleet, Randolph Partnership For Children; Ruben Evans, City of Ashe-boro; Christina Brigman, Klaussner Furniture Industries; Cheryl Armstrong, NC Zoo Society; Keith Garner, City of Asheboro; and Elaina Hunter, Guy B. Teachey Elmentary.
