Eric Abernethy graduated from Randolph Community College with an Associates Degree in the Applied Science of Photography in Photojournalism in 1998. He spent one year at the Salisbury Post as a full-time photojournalist and lab tech before moving onto The Daily Advance in Elizabeth City, NC, as a full-time photojournalist. In September of 1999, he began a nine-year run as a photojournalist with The Courier-Tribune. In June of 2008, Eric pursued a freelance career focusing on wildlife photography in North Carolina. As a freelance photographer, Eric’s photography appeared on many occasions in Our State magazine. Eric’s photos have placed annually in the North Carolina Wildlife Magazines nature photography contest for the past six years. Eric resides in southern Randolph County as a freelance photographer.
