Memorial Day: A time to remember

The annual Memorial Day service at the Historic Randolph County Courthouse and in front at the All Veterans Memorial took place 
on Monday. Mark Hagerty read out  the names of 135 fallen army veterans from a list later burned in a military helmet in their memory. 

Marine Corps veteran  D. Filmore York was guest speaker during the event, lamenting that he wished more youth were exposed to the importance of military service to one’s country.
